Walking together from Rookie to Rockstar

Long before the Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB), legal education was primarily by apprenticeship. In those days mentorship of young lawyers was a natural consequence of their legal training. In the legal education world of today, if mentorship is not intentionally grafted into a lawyer’s training and sustained throughout their career, it could very well be relegated to a ‘tale of times past’.

The streets are filled with people in need of a well-rounded legal professional. The closet has always been big enough for both the new and the old. We hope the content shared here will help build a community of allies who are eager to learn from each other’s experiences. A fireplace where lawyers gather to share tales of times past and dreams of the future. The proverbial new brooms still need the old brooms to show them the corners.

Dear Rookie Advocate is a mentorship platform where various legal professionals share insights and practical knowledge. The aim is to help each other, especially young lawyers, become well-rounded professionals that impact their spheres of influence. It has two contributors main contributors and features articles and interviews from other leading lawyers.
